Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson emphasized the importance of the agreement reached after prolonged blockages by Hungary and Slovakia.

Expressing satisfaction with the outcome, Kristersson said: “It is important and very gratifying that the €90 billion EU loan for Ukraine, agreed in December at the European Council, along with the 20th sanctions package, has finally reached completion after long-standing obstruction by Hungary and Slovakia.”

Arguing that peace can only be achieved through strength and pressure, Kristersson stated: “Increasing support for Ukraine and exerting pressure on Russia is the key to future peace in Ukraine.”
