Katz: The Druze community is a brave partner in the security of the State of Israel
Jerusalem, March 8 (Hibya) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a condolence message for Brigadier General Maher Khattar and another soldier who were killed in clashes in southern Lebanon, expressing his condolences to the Druze community.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz made a statement regarding the losses that occurred during the ongoing operations in southern Lebanon.
Drawing attention to the role of the Druze community in Israel's defense, Katz said: "I am deeply saddened by the loss of Brigadier General Maher Khattar, an engineer combatant serving in the 91st Division who fell in battle in southern Lebanon, as well as another fighter whose name has not yet been released. The Druze community is a brave partner in the security of the State of Israel."
Katz added: "Their sons and daughters fight on the front lines and make a significant contribution to the defense of the state."
Sending a message of support to the families of the fallen soldiers, Katz said: "I extend my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and to the entire Druze community, and I send strength to the heroic IDF soldiers fighting on all fronts. May his memory be blessed."
