Jetten: As allies of Ukraine, we must also remain resolute
Kyiv, March 8 (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Kyiv and emphasized that the Netherlands’ military and energy support for Ukraine will continue with determination.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten held meetings in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
Meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Jetten stated that the defense of the Ukrainian people is important for all of Europe.
Jetten said: “It is an honor to be in Kyiv today alongside President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Netherlands has stood shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people for years. Because they are not only fighting for their own freedom but also for the freedom and security of Europe. Their struggle is also our struggle.”
Stating that they are focusing on Ukraine’s urgent needs, Jetten said: “Providing energy support to Ukraine and strengthening its air defense are our top priorities; we are working intensively with our international partners to achieve these goals. Ukraine deserves our full support.”
Referring to peace processes as well, Prime Minister Jetten criticized Russia’s stance, saying: “We see that Ukraine is taking a constructive approach, but the only thing Russia does is make impossible demands and continue its aggression with full force. Therefore, as allies of Ukraine, we must remain resolute, stay alert, and ensure that our attention does not waver.”
